With Nokia technology, alongside Willinn (MTI), a technology company from the Zonamerica group, we carried out the project to modernize Zonamerica's transport network. With the goal of providing a carrier-class service, we installed an MPLS solution that ensures connectivity for over 500 companies located on the premises and improves speed for more than 7,000 end users.
A connected technology park.
Zonamerica, Uruguay's number one international business community, with over 500 companies from more than 14 industries and more than 7,000 employees (around 42% of the total workforce in the country's free trade zones), specializes in designing and creating highly competitive business environments. It combines the advantages of proximity to a major city with vast green spaces.
It provides a comprehensive location solution to businesses, based on world-class infrastructure and modern technology services. It offers scalability, flexibility, and redundancy to its clients in business environments with amenities and services for their employees, facilitating the growth of both companies and individuals.
Willinn, on the other hand, is Zonamerica's technology company. It offers tailored, scalable, redundant, and efficient IT solutions that meet the needs of companies of various sizes. With over 30 years of experience, Willinn operates in Latin America with offices in Montevideo and Cali, as well as a presence in the United States.

The challenge: to be a reliable technology partner.
Some of the solutions offered by the Zonamerica campus, through Willinn, include internet access, Wi-Fi, and telephone systems. These services must be scalable and flexible, ensuring they support the growth of companies and their employees.
To consolidate its position as a key partner for the companies based on the campus, it must maintain high-quality standards, cutting-edge technological solutions, and robust support tailored to the traffic volume.
Scale services and increase browsing speed.
The growth of the park and the increasing bandwidth requirements led Willinn to replace its traditional network with a new high-speed MPLS network from Nokia. This network is more efficient, resilient, and flexible. Its scalable design allows it to support the future growth of Zonamerica's clients, meaning that if they move to a new building or expand their space, migrating or adapting the network service becomes simpler and more immediate.
Additionally, it reduces error margins during operation, as being a service-oriented network, making new configurations involves fewer steps compared to the previous solution and provides greater autonomy when performing maintenance.
Another advantage is the increased browsing speed. With 25 Gbps MPLS rings, Willinn will be able to boost the available bandwidth for users, significantly improving the user experience.

What did this project mean?
Alejandro Pereyra, Head of Engineering and Operations at Willinn, stated: “At Willinn, we carried out the network engineering and chose Isbel/Nokia as partners because they met all the requirements we needed to provide a carrier-class service for our clients located on the campus.”
Regarding the process, he highlighted the teamwork of the three companies: “We worked for almost 8 months on the project, achieving our goal of providing the client with higher service quality, with no interruptions during the implementation.”
For his part, Marcelo Entreconti, Enterprise Leader for Latin America at Nokia, commented: “We are proud to be part of this project. Being an enabler of digital transformation through our networks, with technology and connectivity, is one of Nokia's main objectives. Bringing these goals to life in a project like this, which will directly benefit our client and their operations, is extremely rewarding.” Entreconti added: “We thank Isbel for the important partnership in this initiative, as well as Willinn and Zonamerica for trusting in our work.”
From Isbel, Alejandro Draper, Product Line Manager of Networking & Security, shared that it was a project that posed a demanding challenge: “We installed a large-scale network from scratch. Migrating this large, production network to the new infrastructure required detailed planning to eliminate or minimize service interruptions.” “With a team of more than 15 people, we focused on designing strategies to automate tasks, save time, and work on identifying and mitigating risks,” he added.
